Registered users
Registered user: A person that has been registered to use a license. Only registered uses can log in to License Manager.
Account administrator: A person that has been designated to administer an account and its users. An account administrator can register new users, remove existing users, and promote registered users to account managers. The account administrator can (but need not) use a license. In other words, he can be an IT manager and/or a member of the design team.
Account manager: A registered user whose privileges has been elevated by the account administrator in order to share user management responsibilities. An account manager can register new users and remove existing users.
Logging in: Singing in as a specific person to use a license.
Logging out: Signing out so that someone else can log in on the particular computer.
License
License: An agreement with Prokon Software Consultants that allows the use of PROKON software. License are available for PROKONStructural Analysis and Design, Padds (stand-alone license) and Probar 2D, Probar 3D, Prodesk and Pronet extensions for Autodesk software. PROKON software can be used without a license, in which case it will function in a limited "demo mode".
Rent: The most popular licensing option is annual rent. This is a subscription service that offers access to a license for a period of one year. Annual rent includes software maintenance (program updates and technical support).
Purchase: An alternative licensing option is purchase, in which case the license is perpetual. A purchase license includes software maintenance for one year; after that an upgrade is required to extend the maintenance by another year.
Demo mode: A mode in which PROKON functions with some features limited or disabled. The purpose of "demo mode" is to provide an idea of the capabilities of the software. Many universities allow engineering students to use PROKON in "demo mode" to complete assignments.License Manager
Trial license: A time-limited license that enables one to evaluate the full capabilities of PROKON.
Module:PROKON is modular; it comprises over forty programs (modules) that can be used separately or in conjunction with each other. When you order a PROKON license, you can choose which modules you want to include.
PROKON Program set: A program set is a collection of modules. A PROKON license can have two program sets. Example: your office has two groups of designers, one group that perform steel design, and another group that does concrete design. When you order a license, you can specify a set with steel design modules, and a second set with concrete design modules. You are free to include any modules in either of the two program sets.
Workstation: A license can be used by multiple people at the same time. Users can have their PROKON installed on stand-alone computers or on a network server. The maximum number of simultaneous users is determined by the number of workstations included in the license. When you order a license, you can specify the number of workstations for each the program set.
License session: A period of license use.
License Manager: This program, that manages a PROKON license for one or more users.
License Server: An internet server owned operated by Prokon Software Consultants that provides on-demand licenses to users.
